Ad Campaign Linkedin – LinkedIn is undoubtedly an important platform for distributing content. 94% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn as a content distribution channel, compared to only 89% on Twitter and 77% on Facebook and YouTube. On LinkedIn, you can post organic or promotional content that links back to your site or products — although you can use LinkedIn ads to target audiences and ensure higher visibility, you can also post content on your own page for brand awareness, or to disseminate information about new products or services. LinkedIn has a wide reach, and its audience usually expects business-related content, making it an ideal site for posting company information. In fact, compared to Facebook and Twitter, it’s the number one most popular advertising channel for B2B marketers: Images courtesy of Demandwave.com However, LinkedIn’s popularity among marketers makes it a crowded space. Example of a LinkedIn ad Dell EMC Tableau Software Adobe Toptal Elon University Visa JetBlue Airways HelloFresh WeWork 1. Dell EMC The Dell EMC ad is a humorous and accurate use of the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday. The ad features an image from the 90s, and begins with, “Thanks to our customers…”, which is a truly moving display of Dell’s gratitude and humility for their own growth. To create compelling ads, consider how you can make your content attractive to your audience. 2. Good Advertising Tableau Software can draw positive attention to your brand without trying to sell a product or service right away. For example, check out Tableau Software’s ad, which spreads the word about the company’s commitment to ending veteran and chronic homelessness. Plus, they’re authentic and sentimental, and they draw attention to the ad’s objective. How can you not want to click on a link? 3. Adobe I was particularly impressed by Adobe’s commitment to breaking down stereotypes — for example, in this ad, their text initially mentions general leadership advice, before offering women-only executive tips in honor of Women’s History Month. The ads are also easy to read, for LinkedIn users who skim through pages quickly. In general, short-and-sweet works well on the platform, so it’s a smart move. 4. JetBlue Airways JetBlue ads are very simple, allowing viewers to quickly gather all the necessary information — specifically, “20% off”. Besides, “Springboard for Spring trip” is interesting and unique. Most of JetBlue’s LinkedIn content avoids selling directly to their audience, so this section doesn’t feel overly promotional. Instead, it feels helpful. Plus, a “two-day sale” creates a sense of urgency, and can compel audiences to start perusing JetBlue’s flight deals. 5. Toptal You may use LinkedIn to share useful content with your audience. While not selling products or services directly, this method will undoubtedly help you showcase your brand as a thought leader, and attract more visitors to your site. Toptal, for example, uses their LinkedIn profile to share helpful content related to their services. Additionally, Toptal’s content makes a general statement — “the modern workforce demands greater flexibility” — to appeal to a wider audience, and avoid appearing overly promotional. 6. Elon University As an alumni of Elon University, I may be a bit biased, but the university does a great job avoiding images and using graphics and video to draw attention to their content. Since 59% of executives prefer watching videos to reading text, it’s a good idea to include videos in your promotion strategy on LinkedIn. 7. Visa Visa is another example of a company leveraging videos on LinkedIn to promote a new campaign or program. In fact, their videos are often quite addictive — like this one, which features various women talking about their decision to start a business. This two-minute video is deeply moving, and successfully conveys the importance of Visa’s new Visa Everywhere Initiative. 8. HelloFresh Since HelloFresh shares content originally published by other companies, the ads appear very authentic and genuine. Plus, the hashtags are fun and feel relatable, and the images convey the intent of the ad really well. 9. WeWork In an age of shortening attention spans, short and simple is key — which is why WeWork’s ads are so impressive, with short text and simple images to get the message across. In addition, the message, “Just moved and already outgrown your workspace?”, along with an image, is very eye-catching and eye-catching.
